Two people have been taken to hospital following a serious crash between two dump trucks and an SUV on Country Hills Boulevard Thursday morning.

EMS said they were called to the crash scene at about 10:30 a.m.

Calgary police said the SUV and one dump truck, which was towing a second dump trailer, were stopped at the ramp onto southbound Stoney Trail for a pedestrian crossing. A second dump truck then crashed into the back of the SUV, pushing it ahead into the first dump truck.

The two occupants of the sandwiched SUV were trapped in the vehicle temporarily before being extracted and taken to hospital, police said.

Both are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

A Calgary police K9 unit was in the area and witnessed the crash, CPS said.
