Photos sent to Global News appear to show line-painting mistake on a north Edmonton road.
The pictures were taken on Monday morning. It looks like new yellow lines were painted on the street but a cardboard box in the middle of the road wasn’t moved and the lines were painted over it.
The paint was spotted on 113 A Street between 132 Avenue and 131 Avenue.
A Global News crew went to check out the spot on Tuesday morning. The box had been removed and the lines seemed to have been repainted or patched.
The City of Edmonton said traffic lines are painted overnight by a paint truck with two operators with paint guns and one driver.
“Since it would have been dark, it’s likely that the operators just didn’t notice the mistake,” city spokeswoman Kristen Wagner explained in an email. “Fortunately, it was reported early this morning and crews were quickly dispatched to remove the cardboard and repaint the line.”
She said it would be an easy mistake to fix.
“A crew member would have just removed the cardboard and filled in the gap with a roller. The paint dries within a couple of minutes.”
