When asked why Kimmel’s disappearance is considered suspicious, Inspector Don Coleman said it was because the investigative avenues they had pursued so far had proved fruitless.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

“We’re looking for any information from the public – or Fletcher himself to come forward and let us know he’s okay – or anybody that might know what happened to Fletcher, if something bad happened, to let us know.”

Kimmel is described as being 6’5” tall with a medium build, brown eyes, short brown hair and a close-cropped beard. Police don’t believe he has a vehicle and believe he was alone at the time of his disappearance.

Kimmel is from the Brooks area, although police think he was living in Marda Loop.

Coleman said Kimmel was known to police but wouldn’t go into detail.

Anyone with information on Kimmel’s whereabouts is asked to call police at 403-266-1234 or contact Crime Stoppers.

Kimmel’s family has set up a Facebook page with additional photos and information.
