Serious crash sends several people to Kelowna hospital – Oct 22, 2016

KELOWNA, B.C. – Emergency crews were called out to a serious crash at Harvey Avenue (Hwy 97) and Dilworth Drive Friday evening just before 7 p.m.

A pick-up truck and car had collided, sending the truck onto its roof.

A man behind the wheel of the car had to be freed with the help of the Jaws of Life.

While he exited the vehicle on his own after being freed, paramedics promptly put him on a backboard for transport to hospital.

It’s unknown how many other people were injured in the crash, but several ambulances were required at the scene.

Traffic southbound on Harvey near the Orchard Park Mall was rerouted for several hours while the scene was cleared.

RCMP have yet to release information about the accident.
