Vancouver Police are asking for the public’s help to find a person of interest in a random sexual assault earlier this month.
Police say just after 3 a.m. on Oct. 9, a 34-year-old woman was about to enter a building on Richards Street near Robson Street when a man groped her from behind. She yelled and scared him off and police say he was last seen walking quickly towards Robson.
The man was captured on surveillance footage. He was described as olive-skinned, 5’5” to 5’7” tall, with a slim build. He had dark hair, a moustache and a goatee. He was also well-dressed and wearing all-black clothing.
Police are asking anyone who recognizes this man, or has information about the assault, to call the Vancouver Police Sex Crimes Unit at 604-717-0600 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
