Man taken to hospital after severe beating in Port Coquitlam

A man has been sent to hospital after being severely beaten in Port Coquitlam.

The victim was seen wandering his neighbourhood around Vincent Street and Grant Avenue at approximately 10:40 a.m. on Monday. According to a witness in the area, the man was visibly injured and appeared to be very confused.

A police K9 unit was called to the scene where a trail of blood from the victim led to a home on Grant Avenue. Five people were taken from the home but no arrests have been made.

Port Coquitlam RCMP say the victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and is known to police. There is no current risk to the public and the investigation is ongoing.
