A man was shot in Surrey early Tuesday morning in what police believe was a targeted incident.

At approximately 2:50 a.m., RCMP responded to a report of a man being shot in the area of King George Boulevard and 108 Avenue. When officers arrived they found a man with a single gunshot wound to his abdomen. He was rushed to hospital in serious, but non-life threatening condition. The victim was with another man at the time who was not injured.

Police believe the man was shot by two men on bicycles who fired a single shot towards them before riding away.

The victim and his associate are known to police but the two men on the bicycles have not been identified at this time.

Officers continue to gather evidence and conduct neighbourhood canvassing to identify potential witnesses and video surveillance.
