Police are investigating after a motorcyclist was killed in a single-vehicle collision in downtown Edmonton Tuesday evening.

According to police, officers were called to Bellamy Hill Road and 99 Avenue at about 8:45 p.m.

Paramedics were called to the scene and treated the 24-year-old driver, but the motorcyclist died of his injuries.

Witnesses told police it appeared that two motorcycles were driving up the hill when one of the riders clipped the curb and flew off the bike.

Police said they do not believe speed or alcohol were factors in the collision.

Investigators want to talk to the the second motorcycle driver, who left the scene before police arrived, or any other witnesses that may have information about this collision.
