RCMP have laid charges against three people after officers noted the “overwhelming” smell of marijuana while conducting a traffic stop east of Cochrane, Alta.
Police pulled over the vehicle on Highway 1 east of Cochrane at around 3:45 a.m. on Sunday after noticing it had a burnt out tail light.
RCMP said illegal drugs could be seen in plain view inside the vehicle.
One woman and two men were arrested and a subsequent search of the vehicle revealed marijuana, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, MDMA , a firearm, knives, bearspray, drug paraphanelia and a large sum of money.
Dylan Morley-Johnson, 26, Branden Newborn, 29, (both of Calgary) and Brenna Drader, 20, (of Cochrane) are facing multiple possession charges.
They are scheduled to appear in Cochrane Provincial Court on Tuesday.
