Five people are injured — one critically — after a vehicle went through the centre guardrail in a major crash on the QEW in Mississauga late Friday night.
Provincial police said the eastbound vehicle lost control near Hurontario Street just before midnight and broke through the guardrail into the westbound lanes, slamming into two vehicles.

Four people in the westbound vehicles suffered minor injuries, while the eastbound driver suffered life-threatening injuries and had to be extracted with the jaws of life, police said.
Lanes in both directions remained partially closed Saturday morning as the guardrail was repaired.
