MONTREAL – Police are investigating after a man was rushed to hospital in critical condition after apparently being shot in the chest in downtown Montreal
Shortly before 4:00 a.m., officers responding to a 911 call about possible gunshots fired in Montreal’s Ville-Marie borough, discovered an injured man on du Musée Avenue near Doctor Penfield Avenue.
The victim, a 28-year-old man, appeared to have been shot in the chest.
According to Montreal police, the victim was still conscious when he was taken to hospital but was uncooperative.
His condition has been listed as critical.
A perimeter was erected around the crime scene and as of 10:30 a.m., du Musee Avenue remained closed.
The investigation continues.
