CHILLIWACK, B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors are now two wins away from the Fred Page Cup following a win over the Chilliwack Chiefs Tuesday night.

The BCHL Warriors not only held their lead over the Chiefs through the game, they stretched it to a 5-1 victory.

West Kelowna goals came from Jake Lebrun, Connor Sodergren, with power play goals by Quin Foreman and Liam Blackburn. Kylar Hope took an empty netter at 15:50 of the third period.

Chilliwack’s single marker was made by Jordan Kawaguchi in the second period.

Shots on goal were 40-33 in favour of West Kelowna.

In the franchise’s 10 year history, the team has yet to make it this far. They won the Interior Division title Saturday, beating the Penticton Vees.

The Warriors host Nanaimo Thursday at Royal Lepage Place. Chilliwack and Nanaimo duke it out April 2 and 4. West Kelowna hosts Chilliwack April 6 then travel to Nanaimo April 8.

The 2016 Fred Page Cup takes place in Woodstock, New Brunswick, home of the Woodstock Slammers of the Maritime Junior Hockey League.
