Apple has issued a voluntary recall for certain types of AC wall plug adapters included in some iPhone, iPad and Mac products, due to the risk of the adaptors breaking and causing electric shock.

According to the company, the recall includes two-pronged wall plug adapters included with Mac computers and 10-watt adapters included with certain iOS devices between 2003 and 2015.

The adapters were designed for use in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Continental Europe, New Zealand and South Korea; however, these adapters were included in Apple’s World Travel Adapter kit, which means some Canadian consumers may have purchased them.

Apple said the recall does not affect wall plug adapters designed for use in Canada or the U.S.

“In very rare cases, affected Apple two-prong wall plug adapters may break and create a risk of electrical shock if touched,” read a statement from the company. “Apple is aware of 12 incidents worldwide.”
