2 men facing weapons, drug charges following robbery in Eastern Passage

CORRECTION: A police report initially stated this robbery occurred in Cole Harbour, however a correction from RCMP states it happened in Eastern Passage. 

Two men are facing a slew of charges after a reported robbery in Eastern Passage on Tuesday afternoon.

RCMP responded to the area of Ridding Road around 4 p.m. after a man reported he was approached by two other men in a vehicle while he was walking along the road.

The suspects allegedly demanded the victim’s phone, but he refused. He turned over a ring because he feared for his safety, then the suspects left the scene.

Police stopped the vehicle Tuesday night on Otago Drive and arrested its two male occupants. A search of the vehicle found a handgun, ammunition, and quantities of marijuana and cocaine.

Kyle Brimicombe, 21 of Eastern Passage is facing charges for weapons-related offences, uttering threats, theft, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and failure to comply with a probation order.

Raymond Francis, 20 of Eastern Passage is also facing charges for weapons-related offences and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

RCMP say the investigation is ongoing.

The two suspects were due to appear in court on Wednesday.
