Norton was elected in 2012 after serving as a member of common council and worked as a lawyer during his time in office.

During his term, Norton tackled the city’s ailing pension plan, maintained a stable tax rate, worked on a clean drinking water system and invested in roads and recreation.

The municipal election will be held May 9.
