Police were called to two robberies within two hours Wednesday night.
The first robbery occurred just before 10pm at The House of Mei Mei in Bedford.
Police say a male entered the restaurant and used a sensory irritant on an employee and then fled the scene.
A K-9 unit was unable to locate the suspect. Police are still searching for suspect.
Less than 90 minutes later, police arrested a 22 year old Halifax man after allegedly holding up the Bluenose Market on Titus St.
Police say the lone male entered the store with a knife and demanded money. He eventually got frustrated and left empty handed.
A K-9 unit helped in the search and located some of the suspect’s discarded clothing as well as the weapon used in the robbery.
He was arrested a short time later on Evans Avenue.
He will appear in court this morning to face robbery and weapons charges.
