Police in California have shut down an assisted living facility and arrested two employees following allegations the two abused the patients under their care.
Now police in Rancho Cucamonga, California have released security camera footage from inside the facility showing what they say is two instances of physical abuse of patients by facility staff.
The first clip, dated June 2014, shows a patient at the Anyelir Home assisted living facility being pushed, shoved to the ground, and struck by a facility employee.
The second clip, from September of that year, shows an employee repeatedly shoving an elderly man as he walks in circles.
According to a news release from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department Marselyn Sihotang, 36, and Roselina Sihotang, 38, were arrested on Friday, Nov. 6 on suspicion of Dependent Adult Abuse.

Police said a whistleblower initially led them to investigate allegations of abuse at the facility, with evidence gathered supporting the belief that patients were being abused “despite the victims being unable to communicate with authorities.”
Billed as an assisted living facility on its website, the Anyelir Home advertised itself as a halfway point between independent living and a full-on nursing home facility.
While appealing mainly to elderly residents, the facility was intended to cater to anyone who might require a greater degree of care and supervision such as those with “varying levels of disabilities.”

The facility has since been shut down as police continue to investigate allegations of abuse.
A CBS2 News report uncovered previous instances of possible misconduct at Anyelir Home, including a state inspection report that noted one patient suffered brusing around the eyes.
According to the report, Marselyn Sihotang told state inspectors the bruising was self-inflicted.
Another report found “hygiene supplies used by the clients were stained and had been contaminated.”

Police believe there may be more victims of abuse at the facility and are urging anyone with information to contact them immediately.
The two women have been released on bail pending their trial.
