Public sector strike dates for Montreal and elsewhere in Quebec

MONTREAL–Around 400,000 public workers are expected to strike this week in Montreal and other areas of the province.
That includes English school boards across Quebec.
Here is a breakdown of the strike dates.
 
Lester B. Pearson School Board
Teachers will walk off the job on three different dates.

Oct. 29, Nov. 16 and Nov. 17.
Support staff will also have two rotating strike days, the first one on Nov. 4.
 
Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board
Teachers agreed to strike on the same dates, Oct. 29, Nov. 16 and 17.
They will also hold walkouts for three consecutive days at the end of the year on Dec. 1, 2 and 3.
Those dates will be re-evaluated depending on the outcome of negotiations.
The Montreal Teachers Association
The union representing all teachers working for the English Montreal School Board, has confirmed one strike date so far, Oct. 29.

John Abbott College
The college will see walkouts on Oct. 29, Nov. 16-17.
 
Riverside School Board
The South Shore’s school board will also have strikes on Oct. 28, Nov. 12 and 13.
Teachers will also strike Dec. 1, 2 and 3.
 
The Fédération autonome de l’enseignement
The union that represents over 34,000 French-language teachers across the province will also hold three rotating strikes on Oct. 26, 27 and 28.

Their strike dates are divided by region.
 
West Island

West Island teachers are on strike Monday, Oct. 26.
 
Montreal and Laval
Laval teachers will strike on Oct. 27 and Montreal teachers on Oct. 28.
 
 
General strike, breakdown by regions
The planned rotating strike is organized by the Common Front.

It not only includes teachers but healthcare workers, professionals, technicians, support and administrative staff, workers and civil servants in the healthcare and social services sector, school boards and CEGEPs.
Outlying Quebec regions will also be on rotating strikes.
 
October 26
Outaouais, Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Laurentides, Lanaudière, Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, Nord-du-Québec.
 
October 27
Québec–Chaudière-Appalaches, Bas-Saint-Laurent, Côte-Nord, Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine, Quebec public sector workers, as well as the Revenue-Quebec.
 
October 28

Estrie, Montérégie, Centre-du-Québec and Mauricie.
 
October 29
Montreal, Laval and the Human Rights Commission workers.
