The search for a missing Saskatchewan senior has come to a tragic conclusion after RCMP discovered the man dead inside his vehicle Friday afternoon.
87-year-old John Maxwell Purcell was last seen leaving his residence the morning of Sept. 25. driving a dark purple truck.

Just after 2:00 p.m. on Friday Purcell’s truck was located in the Red Deer River approximately eight kilometres south of Hudson Bay, Sask. Purcell was found dead inside.
RCMP say the area where the vehicle was found is heavily treed and that there is a sharp drop off into the river.
Investigators do not believe that Purcell’s death is suspicious in nature.
