KELOWNA — Kelowna RCMP weren’t taking any chances following the discovery of two suspicious packages in the Rutland area.
The packages were found on Houghton Road prompting police to cordon off the area between Hein Road and Hollywood Road.

The RCMP’s explosive disposal unit was called to the scene which determined that the packages didn’t pose a threat to public safety.
The RCMP don’t say what was in the packages.
