Concrete falls off building near Yonge-Dundas Square

WATCH ABOVE: Tile missing after concrete falls from Toronto building’s roof

TORONTO – Several chunks of fallen concrete have forced the closure of a street on the south end of Yonge-Dundas Square Thursday morning.

Fire crews are on scene and the area on Dundas Square and Victoria Street is blocked off to traffic.

Police are investigating the cause and whether the concrete was intentionally tossed off the roof.

Aerial footage captured from the scene indicates a missing tile several feet away from the building’s edge.

Meanwhile, the concrete debris is seen scattered on the sidewalk located in front of a jewelry store at the base of the HNR Building.
