HALIFAX — One of the two people who pleaded guilty to killing Loretta Saunders is trying to overturn her conviction.
Global News confirmed Victoria Henneberry filed a Notice to Appeal with the courts this week.
Since the official 30-day window for an appeal has passed, Henneberry has also filed a motion to Extend the Time to Appeal.
Henneberry and her former boyfriend, Blake Legette, were sentenced to life in prison in April after they admitted they killed Saunders and left her body on the side of the Trans-Canada Highway in New Brunswick.
