A photo of a bear near the Dog Mountain fire is getting a lot of attention online.
Steve Kendall said he took the photo when he was on a boat on Sproat Lake. The fire, which is about 450 hectares in size and is 90 per cent contained, is believed to be human-caused.
Kendall said the fire was moving along the shore when he saw it and said the bear was in view for about three or four minutes.
The bear did not appear to in distress and was foraging for food.
“He ventured off in to the timber,” said Kendall. “He looked fine, he didn’t look in distress.”
Twenty-one seasonal homes are still under Evacuation Order due to the Dog Mountain wildfire.
There has been a lot of discussion online over the authenticity of the photo. What do you think?
