High risk offender released in Calgary following manslaughter sentence

CALGARY – Police are warning the public about a high risk offender who was released into the Calgary area on Tuesday.

Kevin Ronald Brooks, 28, just finished serving a seven-year manslaughter sentence.

Police say he has a history of violent offences, and has shown violence towards strangers, those known to him and even peace officers.

His past offences were committed in Edmonton, Drumheller and Saint John.

Brooks will be monitored by the Calgary Police Service High Risk Offender Program.

He is described as approximately 160 pounds, 6’ tall with brown hair and brown eyes. He has multiple tattoos, including one around his neck, and tear drops by the corner of his right eye.

Police are warning members of the public against taking on any form of vigilante action.
