High risk offender out of prison and back in Calgary

CALGARY – Police are warning the public about a high risk offender who is back in the community.

Matthew Adrian Boyes, 43, was released from federal prison on Monday after serving a two year sentence.

He will now be monitored by the Calgary Police Service High Risk Offender Program, but police are warning Calgarians that Boyes has a history of violent offences against strangers, people known to him and even peace officers.

His previous convictions include manslaughter and assault.

Officers say he’s known to be even more dangerous when he’s been drinking or doing drugs.

He is described as 6’ tall, 210 lbs., with black hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion.

Police are warning members of the public against taking on any form of vigilante action.
