SASKATOON – A Saskatoon man has been arrested for allegedly attempting to ship drugs into Canada. The man is accused of trying to ship ketamine from Cameroon to Saskatoon.

The investigation started in Montreal when officers with the Canada Border Security Agency (CBSA) intercepted a package on June 3. The package was labelled as soap but when CBSA agents x-rayed the package, they noticed inconsistencies.

They found 25 vials inside, each containing 10 ml of suspected ketamine.

Seven days later, members of the Saskatoon integrated drug enforcement street team and CBSA officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1700-block of Grosvenor Avenue.

A man there claimed ownership of the shipment and was arrested.

Police say they uncovered further evidence that may be connected to other suspicious shipments and continue to investigate.
