Roughriders training camp to kick off in Saskatoon

SASKATOON – Summer is nearly here and so is another season of Rider football. The Saskatchewan Roughriders’ training camp officially kicks off this weekend in Saskatoon.

The fans’ first chance to see this year’s squad is Sunday morning at Griffiths Stadium. This will mark the third straight year the Roughriders have travelled to the University of Saskatchewan campus for training camp.

There is a walk through scheduled to start at 9:15 a.m. and practice from 3 to 4:45 p.m.

The first week of training camp 2015 is presented by Coors Light and is full of events for Rider Nation. Players will be available to sign autographs in front of the west stands at Griffiths Stadium after every afternoon practice.

On Saturday, June 6, the team will hold its “green and white fan day.”

Players and coaches will stay in Saskatoon until they return to Regina June 17.

Their first CFL preseason game is on June 13 against the Edmonton Eskimos in Fort McMurray, Alta. The Riders then host the Calgary Stampeders at Mosaic Stadium on June 19.
