“I am deeply deeply broken now. I wish my Coco could come home now. I love Kurlan so much,” said Didier.

Justice McIntyre told court he believes Didier is remorseful and said this crime was out of character as he had no criminal past.

Didier was an aspiring flight attendant for WestJet.

The judge told court this was a case of domestic violence but there was no evidence of ongoing abuse. Didier received an automatic life sentence and will be eligible to apply for parole in 13 years.
