WINNIPEG — One of Winnipeg’s biggest tourist attractions will now also be one of the tastiest. Friday was the first day visitors to The Forks could also enjoy food trucks. The beautiful weather and a new experience was the perfect recipe for a successful first day.
“It was packed, there were lineups, everyone seemed to enjoy the weather,” Kristin Pauls, Coordinator, Marketing and Communications at The Forks said.
The trucks are set up on Israel Asper Way between the Canadian Museum for Human Rights and The Forks Market. The area is now being dubbed ‘Food Truck Alley.’

“I think as long as we have a nice summer, it will be really nice to enjoy the weather and get some good food in,” one of the lunch rush customers told Global News.
By late afternoon all three of the food trucks were sold out of stock. Food trucks have been gaining popularity in Winnipeg as the culinary scene continues to grow.
“I think it’s a great opportunity for every body, for the food trucks and the people,” said Derek Collins, owner of The Poutine King.
After the success of the food trucks on Broadway, The Forks expects to see a large interest at their tourist hot spot as well. The trucks will be parked on Food Truck Alley seven days a week from 11 am to 7 pm.
