CALGARY – For days it was a mystery, friends in disbelief over who would bring harm to 18-year-old Brando Walker.

They mourned the loss of their friend, their symbols of their grief still remain in the places they gathered to remember him.  Through their sadness they were always holding out hope for some justice.

“There’s so many emotions. You’re sad, your angry, you’re hurt, it shouldn’t have happened to him. He didn’t deserve it, there’s nothing he could have done to make him deserve it,” Shawna Campbell said.

The young man was killed at a Saddleridge home, his partially burned body discovered near the Weaslehead Bridge on the Tsuu T’ina reserve just over two weeks ago.

His partially-burned body was found by two people fishing at the Elbow River near the Weaselhead Bridge on Saturday, March 7.

Late Saturday night, RCMP identified four people in connection with the murder of 18-year-old Brando Walker and say it’s possible more charges could be laid.

News that authorities have laid charges, comes as some sense comfort to his family and friends.

It’s a troubling murder that had investigators interviewing nearly a hundred people in an effort to piece together a complex case.

“It was a fast changing environment with suspect attempting to flee to arrest four people we need to identify them at the same time so as to not compromise investigation,” Cst. Jason Curtis with the RCMP said.

RCMP haven’t ruled out making more arrests but for now, among those facing charges is a young man only 15-years-old and another shot dead by American border agents on Thursday.

20-year-old Jamison Childress was on the run.

“The subject displayed erratic threatening behavior, the subject refused commands and assaulted one of the agents and they sprayed an incapacitating spray,” Chief Dan Harris Jr. from Blaine Border Patrol said.
