CALGARY – Police are investigating the apparent explosion of a pipe bomb in the city’s northwest last night.
They say they were called to the 100 block of Hawkstone Close after a couple walking their dog discovered the remains of a pipe bomb on a walkway near some homes.

Police say the area was cordoned off until it was deemed safe and no injuries were reported.
They say the bomb caused some damage to a fence.
So far, police say they have no suspects.
