PEEL, N.B. – New Brunswick RCMP say a 25-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of his mother, whose body was found inside her burned out home.
Police say the body of 52-year-old Phyllis Roy was discovered following Monday’s fire in the community of Peel, north of Hartland.
Ryan Ernest Roy appeared in Woodstock Provincial Court on Friday. He is also charged with arson and break and enter in connection with the case.
He was remanded into custody and will return to court on March 13.
