Saint John, NB- Police have arrested a 34-year-old man in relation to an attempted robbery at the Royal Bank on Lansdowne Avenue Monday morning.
Around 10:30 a.m. a man entered the bank and passed a note to the teller, and then fled on foot to Metcalf Street where he attempted to car jack a vehicle. The suspect was unsuccessful and continued on foot to the Howard Johnson Hotel.
Police say they searched the hotel where they found an article of clothing matching the description of that worn by the suspect during the attempted robbery. The Major Crime Unit continues to investigate. Anyone with any additional information is asked to contact police at 648-3333
