2 kids found in Summerland drug bust home

File / Global News

SUMMERLAND — Summerland RCMP say two young children were found at a home where thousands of drug plants were seized on Tuesday. Sergeant Stephane Lacroix says RCMP arrested a 33-year-old man and a woman in her mid-twenties.

“B.C. RCMP located and seized 600 mature plants and 19,247 smaller plants along with grow equipment and drug paraphernalia,” says Lacroix. “There were no valid permits or authority for legal production associated to this residence at the time of the search.”

Lacroix says the man was released from police custody on a promise to appear at a later date and the woman was released without process. The home where the pair was arrested is in the 11000 block of Sinclair Road. Lacroix adds the Ministry of Children and Family Development was contacted to deal with the young children. The investigation is ongoing.
