HALIFAX – More charges have been laid in connection with an investigation into international drug trafficking in Halifax.
RCMP arrested Christopher Shawn McBride, 48, on Feb. 4 after finding almost 80 grams of cocaine in his vehicle during a stop.
A search of his home turned up 28 grams of cocaine, a small amount of hashish, cash and other drug paraphernalia including a press for making bricks of cocaine.
McBride has been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a controlled substance. He was released and will appear in Halifax provincial court on April 22.
In January, six men were arrested as part of Operation Hancock after RCMP said they uncovered evidence that cocaine was being imported from Panama into the Port of Halifax to be distributed to cities across Canada.
