Truck theft spree in Oliver

The Canadian Press

OLIVER — Pickup trucks are a hot commodity in Oliver – for thieves.

Since Jan. 12, there have been several attempted thefts of pickups in the south Okanagan town.

The first attempt happened at the Oliver Curling Club, where a 2001 Ford F150 was broken into. The truck was vandalized during the attempt.

Two days later,  someone tried to steal a Ford F150 pickup from a residence on Park Drive.  That same day there was a reported attempted theft of a Ford F150 from McGowan Road. An hour after the incident someone tried to steal another pickup truck – also on McGowan Rd.

On Jan. 19, a pickup truck was stolen from an Oliver residence on Wolf Cub Place where a 1996 Dodge and flat deck trailer were taken.
