Four people facing charges after home robbery

REGINA – Two adults and two youths are facing charges after a home was broken into in Regina on Sunday morning.

At around 1:30 a.m. police were called to the 1800 block of Regent Street where they found a vehicle in the back alley of the complainant’s address.

The 33-year-old driver of the vehicle attempted to flee but was taken into custody without incident, as was a 16-year-old in the back seat of the vehicle.

A 25-year-old female was arrested near the vehicle and a 12-year-old boy with stolen property was found nearby by a canine officer.

Police were also able to lay further charges against the two youths in connection with the October theft of a truck in from a house in the 700 block of Athol Street.

33-year-old Barry James Akapew and 25-year-old Shanna Marie McNab are both facing a number of charges including possession of stolen property.

The two youths cannot be named because of the Youth criminal Justice Act, but are also facing several charges including possession of stolen property and theft of a motor vehicle.

All four will make their first court appearance on Monday.
