HALIFAX – Police in Halifax are warning people with snow-clearing equipment to be on guard after several reported thefts of snowplows and salt-spreaders in December.
Halifax Regional Police said in a release Monday there have been nine reports since Dec. 10 of truck-mounted snowplows or salt-spreaders being stolen from homes and businesses in the area. Some of the vehicles with plows attached have been stolen, only to later be found without the plow.
The thefts have primarily occurred overnight.
Police recommend stowing equipment in garages or well-lit areas to prevent it from being stolen.
Information related to the thefts can be sent either to police or Crime Stoppers.
