CALGARY- Fire officials say light rail transit (LRT) has resumed between Bridgeland and City Hall following a gas leak in the East Village on Friday.
At about 11:15 a.m., the Calgary Fire Department was called to a gas leak at a construction site in the 500 block of Riverfront Avenue S.E. Officials say crews discovered a six inch gas line had been ruptured while construction crews were doing excavation work.
The LRT line between in the area was briefly halted while ATCO gas crews worked to clamp the gas line and make repairs.
About 400 construction workers were evacuated from the site but have since been allowed to return.
