CALGARY – A Calgary couple is facing over 50 charges after a drug bust that netted a large amount of illegal narcotics.
Investigators executed three search warrants in Calgary on November 27th, discovering a wide variety of drugs worth an estimated $250,000.
One of the search warrants was for an apartment in the community of Mission.
Police say it appeared the unit was being used as a cocaine conversion lab with cocaine being cooked into crack. Officers seized a hydraulic cocaine press from the apartment, along with other evidence of drug trafficking.
An apartment along 17th Avenue was also searched. Inside, investigators found a .357 Magnum revolver with the serial number defaced.
During the bust, investigators confiscated a number of weapons including a collapsible baton, brass knuckles and body armor.
Drugs seized include:
- 488 grams of cocaine
- 390 grams of methamphetamine
- 229 grams of heroin
- 319 ml of GHB
- 358 pills of Fentanyl
- 35 grams of cannabis resin
- 2.25 kilograms of Phenacetin
Police also seized cash and cars with more than $30,000.
Police have charged 23-year-old Taylor Zazoni with 33 criminal offences mainly related to drugs, but also including weapons offences, proceeds of crime, and breach of recognizance.
In addition, 30-year-old Kayla Wright faces 18 charges mainly related to drugs, but also including weapons offences, proceeds of crime, and breach of recognizance.
