It happened around 8 a.m. on Saturday morning, three kilometres west of Three Valley Gap. A tractor trailer heading westbound crashed into a power pole and then rolled over, blocking both lanes of traffic.
Neither the driver or passenger were injured, but it caused a 42-kilometre stretch of the highway to be closed between Craigellachie and Revelstoke for many hours. Traffic was fully restored in both directions just before 4 p.m.
The driver was issued a ticket for driving without due care.
RCMP are reminding people to drive carefully in the area. It’s the fourth accident near Revelstoke in the past two days.
