KELOWNA – RCMP say slick and snowy road conditions are a factor for three accidents west of Revelstoke early Friday morning, all involving commercial vehicles.
Staff Sergeant Kurt Grabinsky says one was a serious motor vehicle incident involving a west bound commercial tractor trailer that crossed the centre line and struck an oncoming Ford F250 pick-up truck.
The sole driver of the pick-up – a 65 year old BC man – sustained minor injuries and was transported to the Queen Victoria Hospital in Revelstoke. The two men in the commercial vehicle (from Quebec and Ontario) were uninjured.
The serious crash happened two kilometers west of the Enchanted Forest tourist attraction, forcing the Trans Canada Highway to close for several hours. The two vehicles were removed from the roadway and traffic has resumed to normal.
The RCMP are reminding drivers to ensure they’re using proper winter tires, driving according to road conditions, and to checking DriveBC for road condition updates.
