Snow squalls still moving through parts of southern Ontario

TORONTO – Parts of central Ontario hit with snow squalls can expect conditions to ease up today before the squalls return this evening.

Environment Canada is forecasting more heavy snow and strong wind stretching from Grey-Bruce to southwest of Lake Simcoe.

This morning, classes at Georgian College in Barrie have been cancelled.

In Durham Region, all buses in the Catholic board Zone 1 have been cancelled.

Further north, Muskoka and Trillium Lakelands District School Board have cancelled all bus service as well.

Blowing snow last night caused zero visibility on Highway 400 north of Highway 89, and is believed to be a factor in a crash on the 400 that left one man dead.

The highway was re-opened overnight, but several roads to the east in the Kawarthas were impassable and shut down by police.
