Violent weekend in Dartmouth, Halifax

HALIFAX – Halifax Regional Police are investigating three robberies and a stabbing after a violent weekend in the city, none of the victims suffered life threatening injuries.

First, police are looking for one suspect following a robbery outside the Bank of Montreal on Baker Dr. on Sunday night. A 56-year old man was walking back to his car from the ATM at the bank when he was robbed at gun point, and struck several times in the face with a handgun. He went to hospital with minor injuries, the suspect took his wallet and wrist watch.

Police are searching for a suspect, whom they say is described as a black man between 30 and 40 years old and about 5’5″.

Second, police are searching for a suspect following a break and enter Sunday afternoon in Dartmouth.

Police said the 21-year old female victim was in her home when three people pushed their way through her door, threatened her with a knife and stole her wallet and an undisclosed amount of cash. The woman was not injured during the incident, police said the incident was not random.

They later arrested an 18-year old women and a 16-year old girl, who will appear in court Monday to answer to multiple charges including robbery, break and enter, mischief, and possession of a dangerous weapon.

Finally, Just after midnight on Saturday police responded to a stabbing in Dartmouth and a robbery in Halifax.

A 35-year old man suffered slash wounds on his face and back after being stabbed in a home on Jackson Rd. in Dartmouth. In a news release police said they had arrested three suspects. A  30-year old man, a 47-year old man and a 34-year old woman are facing charges of aggravated assault.

The victim’s injuries were not considered to be life threatening.

One man is in custody following a robbery at the Prince George Hotel in Halifax, early Saturday. The victim, a 29-year old woman, was robbed at knife point. Her cell phone and an undisclosed amount of cash were stolen. The victim was not injured in the incident.
