TORONTO — Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds is going to be a first-time father, it was revealed on Monday.
The 37-year-old Vancouver native and his wife of two years, actress Blake Lively, are expecting.
The news came via a photo on Lively’s website Preserve.us. Taken by her brother Eric Lively, it shows the 27-year-old holding her baby bump.
It will be the first child for both.
No information on a due date has been announced.
Lively, best known for her role on Gossip Girl, met Reynolds while the two were filming Green Lantern.
Reynolds’ first marriage to actress Scarlett Johansson ended in 2010 after about two years. Johansson welcomed baby Rose in September.
Reynolds was engaged to Canadian singer Alanis Morissette from 2004 to 2007. She had baby Ever in December 2010 with husband Mario Treadway.
The actor, whose movies include The Proposal and Safe House, is the second famous Canadian named Ryan with baby news this year. Ryan Gosling and actress Eva Mendes welcomed a baby girl in September.
Reynolds is scheduled to be in Toronto on Oct. 18 to be inducted onto Canada’s Walk of Fame.
