EDMONTON – An officer-involved shooting took place during a vehicle stop on Saturday morning outside Red Deer, Alberta.
Early in the morning, RCMP officers were involved in a suspicious vehicle stop outside the city.
Two vehicles were stopped, and during the stop, one of the officers discharged a firearm towards the second vehicle, which drove away from the scene.
Officers followed the vehicle into the city where it was stopped.
No one was injured.
Two people were taken into custody.
The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) is investigating.
