LETHBRIDGE – Police have laid charges against a 32-year-old man in connection to a bold daytime stabbing on Monday.
Police rushed to the Northside Medical Clinic around 10:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a man in medical distress.
When they arrived, officers found a 29-year-old suffering from stab wounds. He was rushed to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say the victim was stabbed during a confrontation that occurred as he left the clinic.
Investigators say both the victim and his attacker knew each other, and that their altercation was not in any way related to the Northside clinic.
Police have arrested 32-year-old Rueben Cody Smith.
He is charged with several offences including aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possession of an offensive weapon and two counts of breach of a recognizance.
The victim remains in hospital, recovering from his injuries.
