IN THE NEWS…

  • Special attention will be paid to mayoral candidate Doug Ford as he enters his first full week of campaigning. Mayor Rob Ford’s brother officially kicked off his election run in Etobicoke on Saturday by hitting the streets and greeting voters.
  • Rob Ford may be able to leave hospital this week after receiving his first round of chemotherapy to treat a rare form of cancer. The Toronto mayor was diagnosed with liposarcoma after doctors found a tumour in his abdomen two weeks ago, forcing him to drop out of the mayoral race.
  • A woman accused of stealing Pinball Clemons’ Grey Cup ring says it was all a misunderstanding. According to reports, Pinball took his ring off and threw it into the crowd at BC Place for some fans to try on and take a picture with it, (something he is known for doing). However, a woman reportedly grabbed the ring and took off with it.
  • Fall arrives at 10:29 p.m. ET on Monday. But don’t expect autumn-like temperatures this week as the forecast calls for above 20 degrees Celsius into the weekend.
