TORONTO – Rob Ford is expected to leave hospital this week after receiving his first round of chemotherapy to treat a rare form of cancer.

The Toronto mayor was diagnosed with liposarcoma after doctors found a tumour in his abdomen two weeks ago, forcing him to drop out of the mayoral race.

Ford remains in Mt. Sinai Hospital for his first round of chemotherapy which started last week and involves three days of in-patient treatment.
