- After spending a quiet weekend to deal with his brother’s health, Doug Ford is expected to be in “full campaign mode” this week just days following the shocking withdrawal of Rob Ford in the Toronto mayoral race.
- Like kids going to their first day at school, MPs will be donning their best suits and lugging freshly-filled briefcases back to work today on Parliament Hill for their last fall sitting before the next general election.
- Police are investigating two robberies at Best Buy stores in Oakville and Etobicoke Sunday night. Halton Police say a large quantity of electronic goods were stolen at a store in Oakville around 9 p.m. Another in Etobicoke was also broken into later in the evening and it’s not yet know if both are connected.
- Tickets for next year’s Pan Am Games — including the opening ceremony, a one-night-only show by Cirque du Soleil — go on sale this morning.
- The Imitation Game starring Benedict Cumberbatch was announced Sunday as the winner of the People’s Choice Awards at the Toronto International Film Festival.
